However, we knew things would be a bit soggy on Angel this morning so Jim first headed out to pick up the concrete sealer. Now that the rains came, the rest of this week's weather looks incredible so Wednesday should be a perfect concrete day!
Once he got back to the site, Jim got busy on the sheathing now that the scaffolding was in place.
Cutting out the window from outside...
Taking the next piece of sheathing out...
...and fastening it down.
Cutting the window opening out...
Amazing how different the inside is getting to feel now that it's becoming so enclosed!
Putting the strapping on...
Because concrete is coming Wednesday, we need to be able to remove the first scaffolding towers so that they have good access to the garage door openings. So we are concentrating all efforts on this side of the front.
In order to reach the top course of sheathing, Jim had to add yet another level of scaffolding. Thankfully he had left the 2' sections up on the deck so he could reach them from the top without having to take them all the way up the towers.
Cutting off the overhang from the decking material...
Time for more sheathing!
Cutting the first piece of sheathing to fit on the ground.
He put this half piece up on the deck and then moved it into position.
Screwing the sheathing down...
Jim cut the next piece on the ground also and then moved that piece as well as the others he will need up onto the deck.
Setting the next piece into position.
Fastening it down...
Since Jim had to loosen the sides of the house wrap in order to put the sheathing up, he stapled the flapping ends back down.
Wow - great view of the building at the end of the day. It's really taking on a personality now!
