For example, Jim needed to shave a little bit off of the clip angles for the rafters. This was the result...
Besides ruining the angles, it ruined the saw - at over $160 a blade. Jim has of course used the saw thousands of times so go figure.
He finally was able to resurrect the mangled angles and cut the rest of them a different way. So he was able to install all of the clip angles. However, even this job wasn't without issues. He broke two tapcons (the concrete anchor bolts) while installing them. Again, he's put in hundreds of tapcons and never broken one - and two today?
Then, nothing went right trying to figure out all the complex angles for the next roof rafter. At one point, Jim even came home to look at the computer and see if he could better translate drawing to real life. He thinks he finally has one he is happy with so hopefully tomorrow will be better.
The fact that it was close to 90 degrees today didn't help matters when things aren't going great. But Jim always manages to come home with a positive attitude and a smile (the fact that I had a glass of wine waiting didn't hurt either!).
