7.5.2018

Jim started his day off by going out to the Drywall Center to talk to his rep about getting drywall delivered.  We have to get it tomorrow so that Jim has time to put drywall on the wall in the metal shop.  It sounds like the rep may borrow the owner's pickup and deliver it himself tomorrow!  In what world does something like that happen?

When he got back to the property, he still had some project management issues to deal with.  Someone from the gas company had called Jim about getting the tanks delivered.  However, once Jim called back, things were very different.  It sounded like there was an issue between the co-op and the gas company as far as costs.  The lady was supposed to send Jim an itemized bill so he can figure out what's going on.

Once he was finally able to do some work, he started up in the shower again.  He got the shower head on (looks awesome!).  The strap wrench he ordered from Amazon didn't help so Jim had to do it another way.

He next put the side piece of glass on.  There is also a nice swipe seal at the bottom of the door to make sure water stays inside.  Everything works perfectly!  He still has to caulk the side glass in place and do some more caulking (we need to get a new tube), but we are calling this project done for our checklist!

Next Jim did some cabinet work.  He made new kick plates for the bottoms of the two smaller cabinets and made new corner stabilizers for the tops.

He had to cut out the bottom to accommodate our plumbing on the floor as well as cut out the back opening a bit bigger so that we could use the receptacle there if need be.

Once that was done, we were able to bring it upstairs!  Jim made it easier for me by using our moving straps.

Jim used our blocking diagrams as well as where he knew stud placement was to make a little diagram on the wall for attaching.

Attaching the cabinet to the wall...

Then we brought the smaller cabinets up and Jim attached them...

Wow - they look great!  Jim just has to put a plywood countertop on and we are good for awhile.  Jim can now wait until winter when all the other projects are done to make our permanent cabinets.

We brought the cabinet from the dentist office in and I got it cleaned up.  It's actually in nice shape.  Jim had to work on the plastic feel underneath a bit and then we brought it up into the apartment.

Drawers in and getting it all leveled.  This will be the perfect spot for the microwave and toaster!
