Jim worked on the millwork for the door jamb for a good portion of the day. Doing new jobs always requires finding the right tools and time getting things set up.
After getting all his pieces cut to size and sanded, Jim had to find his template for cutting the mortises into the door jamb.
Makes a beautiful mortise so that the hinges sit flushed against the jamb.
Jim also had to make these blocks to hold the door in a vertical position so he could work on it.
Putting the hinges on.
It's all coming together!
I always like how Jim puts these stress lines on the back - they look very cool!
Jim put the final coat of polyurethane on the bathroom door sill - looks awesome!
Next, Jim continued working on the baseboard heaters in the master bedroom. He had cut the holes in each end of the heater against the back wall...
Then he did more soldering in the wood shop. He wanted to see if he would be able to make the elbow and the connection piece long enough that he could solder it from down below. The problem is being able to make it fit with all the brackets on the heater in the back.
But he got it in place!
There's not a huge stub down below for Jim to solder the Pex connection but if he can do this, it's better than soldering in place on the finished flooring.
We got a frame for our Certificate of Occupancy and proudly hung it up today!
High 77/Low 56 - rain overnight and much nicer today! |
