We had used up the last of our window flashing yesterday so Julia and I headed off to Lowe's to find some more. Jim wanted two different kinds - one for the bottom sill flashing and one for the outside. The outside is actually Pella flashing and is very nice.
Jim and Kyle headed to the site and first worked on scaffolding. They took two courses of scaffolding off the top and built up two towers at the other side so that we could reach the other front window.
Then they got busy doing the modifications to the window frame necessary since Lowe's ordered the wrong size windows. First step is getting ready to cut the plywood sheathing.
Jim is outside making the cuts while Kyle unfastens the top of the window frame.
Taking pieces apart...
Jim worked on the side pieces.. First one...
Then the other side...
Jim let Kyle work on cutting off the center piece of steel...
Once everything was back together, they used the new sill flashing and got the bottom all finished.
The window is in!!
The Pella flashing for the outside is very sparkly!
All the front windows are finished!!!
We had a slightly earlier day because we all went to church in the evening. Then it was home to watch the Cavs game and eat way too much food! 'Tis the season...
