12.15.2015

In true Camelot style, it once again rained overnight.  When we got to the building this morning, we were so happy to see that this is all of the water that was in the apartment - just what blew in through the windows!

Jim is starting to bring up some of the ceiling joists he has made.  These can be rainy day tasks now that we are dry inside!

Back to work on the front wall - first step was the strapping for the next section.

Taking out the next piece through the wall...

Setting it down in place...

Cutting out the window opening!

Our wall is taking shape!  Once windows are framed by sheathing, it really looks like a wall.

Strapping is next...

Cutting out and pre-drilling holes for the little side corner...

The inside view of the wall...my kitchen windows!

Ugh...my least favorite thing...Jim working off ladders on top of crazy high scaffolding.

The forecast was for some rain over the lunch hour so we had planned to take the truck and pick up the next order of steel - this is the steel that will be used to enclose the stairwell/entrance area.  Quite a bit of steel in the truck now!  We took the big pieces off and carried them into the shop but left the rest on the truck for now.

Although we had some sprinkles on the windshield going to pick up steel and it was pretty cloudy, it never rained so once got back, it was back to work.

In order to finish this wall, Jim had to build the scaffolding even higher.

Testing out how far he can reach from the latest scaffolding addition - he's really high now!  Jim said that this is the highest scaffolding he has ever worked on.

Once we put up our next piece, we realized that we had the shape of a cross inside!  Very fitting since the fact that we are still working on our building in the middle of December in upstate New York is nothing but miraculous!

From my vantage point inside, Jim doesn't look so high working on this last piece.

However, a quick trip outside sure changes that thought!  He is really, really high!

End-of-the-day picture - the sheathing is all done except for the triangle at the very peak!  Jim got the measurements and stayed after dark to cut it in the shop where there was some light - we ran out of daylight too quickly!
