This was the starting point today - Jim had done more grading yesterday after I went inside.
One of the goals today was to get this big dead tree out of the way. I was scared of this one!
Jim starting to cut...
Giving it a push to start the fall...

Moving it out of the way...
Jim went and put the forks on the Bobcat and started loading up the logs...
Some of the pieces were rotten enough that Jim could manage to lift big sections!
Picking up more logs...

Jim moved the load back to our spot in the woods to let the earth reclaim them!
Then we decided to clean up the other dead tree that Jim pushed over a few days ago...
He dragged it out with the excavator so that he could better get to it...
Then started cutting it into sections...

Next, Jim brought out the surveying equipment just to see where we were and where he wanted us to be as far as slopes and elevation...
He used the excavator to loosen up all this dirt...
Then started moving it...
Building up this area...
