Jim cut the cap moulding pieces in half this morning...

Putting the rabbet cut on the back of the moulding so that it fits over the baseboard piece...

Cap moulding piece and rabbet cut done...

A coat of primer on these pieces - there are lots of nooks and crannies to paint so priming is a bit slower on these cap moulding pieces...

Jim had made enough that he was able to continue working on the top stairwell landing moulding...

The end blocks look really nice...

Last piece of moulding...

After cleaning up from the moulding job, Jim transitioned to outside and starting to work on the excavator.  He used a wire brush to clean up the area where he heated yesterday and then put some rustoleum paint on for protection...

He got the Bobcat out and went to pick up the excavator bucket from its spot at the edge of the woods...

He got spacers for the rotating pin to make a tighter fit - he wanted to weld them onto the bucket.  So first, he had to clean up the areas to be welded...

All ready...

Spacers clamped into place...

Welding time!

All done...

Testing out the pin...
