Two of the tools that Jim needed to complete the Mini oil change were available at Lowe's, so I took off this morning to pick them up and run a couple errands.  It's track season in Saratoga and going the other direction to Glens Falls is busy because of vacationers in the Lake George area.  All part of summer in this area!  We even had a traffic jam of these out-of-towners right down the street!

When I got home, Jim had glued the rest of the door together - looks amazing!

He also put another coat of primer on the plywood moulding pieces and put the cuts on more cap moulding...

He unpacked the rest of the parts for the excavator thumb this afternoon...

The he started getting ready to try and bend this quarter-inch steel area on the excavator so that the thumb connection will fit.  He attached steel so that he could get it straight and planned to use the bottom clamp to tighten the heated steel to hopefully straighten it...

He brought his gas welder out...

And started heating it up...

Then started tightening the clamp...

Back to heating up the steel...

He brought out a different clamp and continued heating...

Tightening the clamp...

He worked for about 30 minutes but in the end, he got the steel straightened and thinks he'll be able to attach the thumb connection now - yay!

Once he got things cleaned up, he did some trimming and then cut the grass.  He was almost finished in the area he was working when the bearing in this pulley went.  He had replaced one pulley last year.  If it's not one thing, it's another!

High 76/Low 62 - nice!
