The "H" and "T" portions of the door are all done and out of their clamps...

Doing some hand planing on the tenons to get the fit perfect...

Jim put a coat of gray on the panels.  This is the first use of the low blocking paint we bought at Sherwin Williams - Jim did some research and it's supposed to have less sticky qualities.  Our paint has been good but it takes awhile before it feels really cured and hard.  We'll see if this is worth it!

They sure look pretty!

Check out the before and after with our new car parts - this is the metal strip that holds the gas tank in place that rusted in pieces.  Scary!  But Jim got everything cleaned up and ready to be installed!

So nice that Jim can sit underneath the car like this!  He got everything fixed and my car is off the lift and back in its parking space, ready for me to use tomorrow to do some grocery shopping!

We always say that the devil is in the details - Jim attended to lots of detail work on the tile floors today.  We bought special sanded caulk to use in certain areas.  First Jim had to tape...

Then he started caulking...

Perfect!

At the edge of the door sill, he had to clean grout out first...

Caulking...

Pulling the tape off...

Looks great!

This process had to be repeated in a lot of different areas - on the joint between the wood sill and the tile...

Caulking....

Makes a great transition...

Doing the edge underneath the door sill...

Both these areas are done!

With the time remaining, Jim did some measuring and cutting of the next pieces on the baseboard moulding...

We are doing date night tonight and are getting ready to head into Saratoga. 😊  After not being open to horse racing fans last year, today is the first day of track season so the town will probably be hopping!
