Jim had a good analogy for the way things are feeling at the carriage house - even though we have spent 4 long years working to get to this point, it now feels like Christmas when you have so many toys to play with and aren't sure which one to start with!
Things continue to come together today - we had a 10:00-11:00 appointment window for Spectrum to come out and our tech showed up just a little after 10:00. Yay, Spectrum - especially after our initial delivery issues with Sears!
The tech was very nice - he first had to hook up the cable lines into their splice box.
Then he came in to wire up things into Jim's media box. He put the modem and router in place.
Then...ta da...we have cable tv and internet!
However, the tech said he brought us a brand new digital box - it's only been out a couple of weeks. He had issues getting it to connect and had to make multiple phone calls to other techs before it worked. How crazy is that to see the tv on?
Jim said it looks like a rat's nest now, but he'll get it all cleaned up soon. Meanwhile, this is the modem and router.
Time for Jim to wire up the internet boxes. Although we will have wireless, Jim prefers our desktop computers to be plugged into the network directly. This is the one in the living room behind his desk...
And this one is in the second bedroom where my computer and desk will go.
Next, Jim worked on making attachment boards for the closet in the master bedroom. Jim ordered beautiful oil rubbed bronze rods that will attach to these boards. He got them all cut, sized and primed.
We had to cut the day a bit short - it's a Holy Day so we have church this evening. We are going to head to Lowe's afterwards to pick up the parts Jim needs for the washer and dryer hook up.
