Poor Jim was doing a million jobs at once today trying to get things ready for us to move in as well as for the movers coming tomorrow.

One of his jobs was getting the closet rod up in the master bedroom so that we have that to use.  Here he's cutting the rod to size and beveling the edges...

The final product - looks so good!  He attached the wood blocks he made which fit perfectly to the lines of the ceiling.  Then he had to attach the ends for the rod to fit into.  He'll pretty things up with paint at a later time but for now we have a beautiful rod and even a shelf above!

He got this window all finished with a coat of polyurethane, plus the got the bottom sashes all done on the other windows.  This was important to get done before we get our furniture in - the rest of the work he needs to do can be accomplished by taking the sashes out and working on them in the wood shop.

Even though it's not set up yet, his computer looks good on his desk!

Then he hooked up the refrigerator!  Testing out the water dispenser!  Later, we brought over some condiments and drinks to load up the fridge a bit while it was getting cold.

The only piece of furniture Jim is worried about getting up the stairs is our box spring.  So he removed the railings from one section of the staircase.  Here's where his design really pays off - he took off 4 screws and the spindle frame was off and it's just as easily put back on.

Taking off that frame really opens up the stairwell section so hopefully they will have no issues.

The washer and dryer saga continues.  We picked up hoses and plugs last night when we went to Lowe's but Jim checked the manual when we got home to see if he would need anything different for the steam dryer.  The book said we were supposed to get a Y-connector and hoses, which of course we didn't.  So I spent quite awhile on the phone trying to get a resolution, but it ended up that I had to drive to the store to talk to the manager.  It ended up that they are ordering the missing parts and will ship them - all free of charge.  However, it took up a big chunk of time that I wasn't planning on spending on the road!

Jim and I keep pinching ourselves and talking about all our "lasts" at the apartment - it's still kind of surreal at this point!
