8.1.2018

Wow - hard to believe we are turning the calendar to August!  However, this is going to be a great August because we should be moving into the carriage house this month!  We have to keep reminding ourselves how long we have worked for this time to get here when we are knee deep in sorting things and trying to pack!

Jim always gets lots done at the property too.  He got the riser all cut to size and sanded and then put the first coat of stain on it.

He put the second coat of stain on the door sill...

And made and stained some plugs...

His Supply House order didn't come in as planned yesterday (it was here when we got home today), but Jim finished up one of the last Pex jobs - connecting the Pex to the down tube of the second bedroom.

Then he worked on connecting lines to the manifold.  He also put the test gauge on the end of the other zone.  So once he finishes up the toe board connection with his new parts, he'll be able to test that zone.  The other held the pressure for days so we're confident it's good to go - great news!

Jim hadn't finished up this top piece of drywall because he thought he would take the Pex out that way.  Since he rerouted it, he went ahead and put the drywall up.

Unfortunately, Jim is going to have to work on the truck if we want to use it for moving.  He went to move it in front of the auto bay area and the batteries were dead.  The truck has two big batteries so Jim didn't want to risk his car trying to jump them.  So he got his battery charger out - however, it was a little drizzly so he had to try and protect it from the elements.  He left it on the charger for 1-1/2 hours or so and was able to get it started.  Another issue with the truck is that we used it as a storage unit - there are all kinds of things in the back which will have to be taken out and put somewhere.

On a happier note, Jim hung up our first pictures in the carriage house apartment!  We had bought these pine cone pictures at the Pine Tree Barn in Ohio and they were in our living room.  But how perfect are they now surrounded by all those pine trees?
