Jim has been having computer issues - he uses a program on his Mac that allows him to run certain programs in a Window environment, which includes his AutoCAD that he uses to make design plans for the house. This Parallels program stopped working and Jim had gone through all the tech support he could to try and find an answer. It culminated into a scheduled tech call this morning (from someone out of the country, of course). It took a bit but they were finally able to get things to work. Jim left while his computer was still rebooting but hopefully that problem is solved.
Jim spent the morning pondering the furnace set up. He had to take off some of the fittings he had put on so that he can place the mixing valves. He got the first joint of the sweep elbow soldered on - the other joint has to be soldered in place. If you look closely, he also cut some tubing to go in between the copper pipe and the clamp to prevent any reaction and/or vibration issues.
He also put the angle piece on the wall in the stairwell since he had to move the wall's position. We have one more piece of drywall on the wall to do but Jim wants to wait until he does the ceiling underneath the landing.
Then at lunchtime, he headed into Lowe's to pick up the door for the woodshop bathroom that he had ordered as well as some wood he needed. When he went to customer service to pick up the order, they didn't have it. Come to find out, for some reason when Jim placed the order, his chosen store (which is always the same) came up to a different location - so the order went there. Jim emailed me the order confirmation and I had to call and cancel the order with that store before he could redo the order in Saratoga and pick up the door. Just took a lot of extra time and hassle.
On his way home, he got stuck in a massive traffic situation when he got off the interstate. He was at the light and a truck with an oversize load was stuck trying to cross the road. They had 5 police cars and the utility company there trying to move traffic signals and get this truck through. Again - lots more time wasted.
Finally back at Angel with the door and wood!
I helped Jim carry the door into the woodshop. Jim really likes this door but unfortunately it wasn't available in the size Jim had planned for the bathroom. So he will use the wood to adjust the rough opening.
Jim spent the rest of the afternoon doing some plastering. He continued working around the kitchen, doing the screws. He has to double check that all the screws are set into the drywall well so it's a bit of a slower process. The next coat will be much faster.
