We had our first snowflakes of the season today! I went outside to walk to the store and post office and there were flakes all around! We saw them on/off a couple times during the day. It was pretty to see them in the air but definitely another reminder that winter is on its way. The forecast is for lows in the single digits this weekend! That's bad news for having water in an unheated structure so we will have to attend to that this week.
Meanwhile, Jim is making great progress on the baffles in the auto bay. He got the bottom foam pieces made and installed, baffles up, and a piece of fiberglass insulation on the front side. He's now officially out of all the baffles and this size fiberglass - he'll probably be making a trip to the Drywall Center in the morning.
Continuing some insulation work, Jim did some stuffing of the blocking area at the top of the walls in the wood shop.
While he was doing that, I worked on stuffing the sides of the last window in the wood shop. Still have more to do on that job tomorrow.
Then we put up a piece of drywall in the bathroom - we need to get this room more closed off in order to keep heat in. Jim is thinking about putting an electric baseboard heater in the bathroom until we can get the boiler system operational. This piece had lots of workarounds - a light and two plumbing fixtures for the urinal to cut out.
Jim had to cut the power to the bathroom and disconnect the light - then he brought the piece in.
He had to notch the top to go around the Pex tubing so it was a tight fit.
Putting it in place...
Fastening it down...
All done!
We then moved upstairs to the apartment - Jim worked on putting the rest of the fasteners in the pieces he put up last night.
Then the last piece is in place...
Next was the piece over the doorway...
Using the Rotozip to trim all the edges on both sides of this doorway.
After that was done, Jim was able to rewire the light switch and get power back on. Then he put the corner bead on...
And the last little piece on this wall!
There are just a couple of pieces left in this room around the inside of the doorframe. Jim started working on those - pictures to come tomorrow!
