11.13.2017

We had a little more than the proverbial "frost" on the pumpkin this morning - we had snow flurries a good part of the day.  They didn't accumulate and were pretty coming down.  The utility rooms continue to keep their temperature inside.

Jim and I both had to spend parts of this morning checking some required New York State boxes.

Jim wants to get both 4Runners state inspected so that he has options if the older one has issues this winter.  So he took the newer one to our local garage this morning.  Unfortunately, when he pulled in, he noticed that one of the front headlights was out, which of course would cause it to fail.  He had to drive to Angel, crawl underneath the other 4Runner, and swap out light bulbs.  Then he drove back to the garage where thankfully the car passed its inspection.  One more to go!

My driver's license expired tomorrow so I had to go to the DMV today.  However, it's not as easy as it used to be.  We can now get Real IDs or Enhanced IDs, which will be required for certain travel and access to military bases.  I wanted a Real ID which required multiple proofs of residency, along with other paperwork.  Since we use a post office box, that was difficult.  After I finally got it worked out, I was then told that I had to have my passport to prove citizenship.  So I had to drive back to the apartment and pick that up.  It's about 30 minutes one way, so I spent some quality car time today! I finally got everything taken care of and my new license will be on its way in a couple of weeks.

Jim worked in the apartment for awhile this morning - this is the corner bead on the tall wall in the master bedroom...

As well as the finished corner bead over the closet/nook area in the bedroom...

In the living room, Jim ran audio wire from a new receptacle near the back corner of this wall up to the front of the wall.  I picked up more receptacle boxes today at Lowe's so he'll be able to finish this job.  It will just make for a smoother way to get audio from the tv to back speakers without having cords along the floor.

I picked up more blinds the other day and Jim got them installed in the living room.  Besides really making it feel like a room, we wanted some thermal barrier over the windows.

In the wood shop, Jim worked on stuffing the block areas in the side wall and did a little more around the window.

The rest of the afternoon was devoted to working in the auto bay, putting up more fiberglass in the ceiling.

He added angle pieces to the side wall for attaching drywall later...

 Continuing to add insulation...

Besides the insulation, Jim got the wire strung to all the location for the lights.  He also is putting a light in the auto bay attic which will run off this circuit, so he ran wire into the attic for that.  Now that the wiring is run, Jim will now be able to finish off all the ceiling fiberglass.
