11.10.2017

It was a bitter cold day today - there were wind advisories out and the temperature just continued to drop, so the wind chill was in the single digits all day.  The low is supposed to be 8 degrees tonight!

Jim continues to monitor the temperatures in both the utility room in the metal shop as well as the bathroom in the wood shop.  Temperatures have stayed in the 40s and he used the heaters to put more heat in the building before he left.  But it's a constant worry for him.

Meanwhile, he's pressing on to get as much insulation and sealing off from the weather done as possible.  In the wood shop, now that the security lights are in the back, Jim was able to put the fiberglass insulation in the corner.  Of course, that's easier said than done.  He first had to move and stabilize the big pile of wood in the corner so that he could put his ladder on top.

He also made a jig and drilled a hole through the steel at the top part of the steel header around the window.  I got as much as I could stuffed a couple of days ago; this new hole will allow Jim to stuff the rest.

Jim spent quite a bit of time on wiring today in the auto bay - figuring out the path that the wire will need to take, where the switches would go, and he started running wire to the back bank of lights.  For now, the wire is just temporarily fixed in place; he'll do it more permanently later.

Then he ran the wire through the back ceiling area of the auto bay and dropped wire where the two lights will go here.

Once the wiring was done, he was able to put fiberglass in this area.  If you look close, you can see the dropped wire coming out of the insulation.

Plus, he had to make a lunchtime trip to the Drywall Center to pick up his angle order as well as grab another 2 bundles of insulation.

High 27/Low 8
