7.19.2017

Kind of an interesting day...our Culligan lady finally showed up to test our water after missing our appointment yesterday.  She was very thorough and tested many more things than the first person did.  The good news is that we have very good water!  Her hardness reading was the highest of all the tests we've had so far but still in a moderate range.  We have a bit of iron but it's the soluble type, meaning we won't have to have a special unit to take care of that.  Everything else was great - she recommended their basic unit (which is still incredibly pricey!).  Good to have another data point.

We had just finished eating lunch when our insurance man stopped by!  Again - where else would insurance people just stop by to see the progress on our building?  Amazing.  He really liked everything - last time he stopped by was almost a year ago so things have definitely changed!  He probably stayed over an hour.

Jim got more insulation done this morning - again, having to work behind all the tools isn't the easiest.

Once we were able to get back to work, Jim headed back to the corner and started putting up the shingles he had cut yesterday.

He got all of them installed and you can see that he did lots of marking as well.  Plus, he made the next piece of flashing and got that installed too.

He cut the next grouping of shingles and I got them all primed.  He'll paint them first thing in the morning and they should be ready to install by the afternoon.

Then he attended to more details...he got the next piece of freeze board installed...

Then it was adding the row of little finish shingles underneath the living room window.

All finished!

End-of-the-day picture....

Of course, that wasn't the end of Jim's day.  He did a little prep work for tomorrow and then went and worked on the car - he got it all buttoned up and running!  So now we just have to figure out if we can transfer license plates from the older 4Runner to this one and it will be back on the road!
