We had set up an appointment for the woman from Culligan to come today at 10:00 to test the water and give us her spiel. I had to run into Saratoga to pick up flyers, so I got an extra-early start so that I could get my errands done and be at the property when she got there. Jim got there early too to make sure everything was set. And then she never showed. We eventually called her - when she called back she said that she didn't have the appointment in her book. It's amazing how many times you deal with these issues with business people. We'll never buy anything from her but we're still going to have her come out and test the water! Supposedly she's coming tomorrow - we'll see!
Jim continued doing his couple of cavities in the woodshop. It's definitely a challenge working around all the tools in this space.
He also got the last box baffle made and put the roof baffles in place - this area is all ready for fiberglass!
Jim had decided that he was going to take the loose insulation out of the couple of cavities in the bedroom where we first started. We were going to put plastic on them but Jim likes the faced insulation much better. So he got that done as well as closed up the area where we stuffed the loose insulation.
The rest of the day was attending to all the siding details. Jim climbed up the roof and cut the house wrap and put the Zip tape on it like he did the front - it makes a really nice seal.
Then he made the first piece of flashing for this corner section...
Jim had to figure out the angle and get the first pieces figured out for this corner section. Then we got them primed.
Jim also got some freeze board made...
The finishing pieces underneath the bathroom window ended up being extremely tiny. Cutting them is no problem but being able to fasten them without them breaking is definitely an issue. He predrilled them and also countersunk the holes first so that he could very carefully put the screws in. But it worked! We made a few more pieces and got them primed too.
It was a little scary on the side scaffolding because Jim constantly has his back to the open space - so we dug out the safety rails.
Jim knocked off a bit early at the end of the day and put his mechanic's hat on. That all went well too - the power steering pump and the pulley are back in the 4Runner. Jim just needs to look up what kind of power steering fluid it takes and if he has some, put in the battery and it will be back on the road!
Not sure where he gets the energy, but he did some grass cutting at the end of the day also.
