7.21.2017

It's hard to believe, but today was opening day for the horseracing season at Saratoga.  Summer always brings so many more people to this area for vacation but it really ramps up during racing season!  Jim and I continue to be amazed that we live in such a vacation hot spot - although the property feels a world away!

Jim filled two more cavities in the woodshop this morning - starting on another wall!

He also drilled holes in the valley rafters and used up another can of foam filling them up.  Then he was able to put some fiberglass up.

He even rough cut his timbers for the knee braces for the overhang.  Unfortunately, that's all he can do right now because he's waiting for some band saw blades that he ordered to come in.

During his lunch break, he drove to the Drywall Center.  He needed more contact adhesive spray and didn't want to run out over the weekend.  While he was there, he got a couple more bundles of insulation.

Once he got back, it was back to work on siding.  He made another piece of freeze board and got the holes predrilled...

Then he started back on the corner piece...

Making good progress.  You can see he has to have all of his tools on different roof jacks plus his shingles are on the scaffolding.  I stay inside and we can pass the cut pieces back and forth.

And there are a lot of cut pieces on this corner!  There's a top and bottom angle to work with.

Continuing on...

End-of-the-day picture...
