Jim did more insulation this morning - including a bit more in the woodshop!

He figured out how to get rigid foam board at the back of the laundry room - we have to get the dryer vent put in before finishing this area, but then it will be ready for loose insulation and batting on the outside.

But a huge chunk of his time was spent cutting these holes for ventilation in the valley rafters.  Because they are so big, they require a lot of force and a lot of time.  Because of how tight this area is, it was even harder.  In fact, Jim still has bright red lines on his arm and back from the a piece of angle he was leaning on while squeezing into this area and trying to get the holes cut.

He drilled these holes yesterday - I didn't get a good picture of them.  So now all the big ventilation holes are finished - yay!

After lunch, it was back outside.  Jim first had to attach his special trim board that he made with the band saw that fits around all the different parts of the eave.

Then he was able to do more siding pieces...

Moving up so more marking...

Next was the corner trim.  This is a really heavy piece of trim and Jim is right at the very edge of the scaffolding so he doesn't have a great position for installation.

Putting it up...

Yikes...he needs two more hands!  You can see he's hanging off the scaffolding, using one foot to try and hold it up into place, then he has to let go with one hand, grab the drill and try to get a screw in to hold it in place!

Standing on the scaffolding rails to reach the top...

Putting the rest of the screws in place...

Then he had to make a special piece of copper drip edge to go from the corner trim over to the other copper flashing.

Putting the flashing into place...

End-of-the-day picture...looks amazing!
