Jim spent most of the day working out details for the next steps of siding and trim work.  He also made and installed the row of cut shingles that go up to the freeze board.  Each of these needs to be cut and predrilled .

He put up a temporary freeze board that you can see in the previous picture just to make sure things would fit - then he made the permanent one.

Next was the corner trim - the last corner trim on the building - yay!  This is another really complicated piece with lots of different planes and angles.  So Jim first worked on making a jig.

Once he was happy with the fit, he then made the trim boards.

Fastening them together...

Putting some primer on the ends...

The soffit piece that was in place was just temporary too - Jim put it up before winter just to block the cold airflow.  He cut and installed the permanent soffit...

Then attached the freeze board...

Yesterday, Jim cut a bunch of pieces that will go underneath the living room windows and predrilled them.  I primed them yesterday and painted them today.

Jim spent time this afternoon putting together the rest of the bandsaw and getting it operational.  He can use it now to make some jobs easier.

Like this job!  This is the trim board that will go next to the eave - it has to fit around the siding and freeze board.

Right before lunch, we had our appointment with a water treatment company.  The president of the company came out and tested the water.  He said that it was in the hard and extremely hard range and that it also had some iron in - a bit different from our mail in test results!  He quoted us a price for his company's equipment.  We have another company coming out next week - lots of samples leads to a better decision!
