10.8.2016

Jim wanted to wrap up all the details on the back west wall and the dormer wall so that he can start taking scaffolding down and repositioning it in the front.  It's kind of scary - he has to make sure every bit of painting, every piece of trim, every little detail is done because once the roof jacks come down, there's no getting back up on the roof!

He put up the little trim pieces that tuck underneath the trim board on the rakes.  He predrilled the screws in so that it would be easier once he got outside.

Working on trim pieces...

Trim tucked underneath on top of the shingles and all painted...

Then Jim made and installed the steel backing board for the fascia.

He also brought me pallet #7 to start working on!

However, there was a chance for showers this afternoon so no outside painting.  I painted upstairs in the apartment...

...and down in the shop.

Jim cut and then painted the piece of soffit for the back corner...

While the soffit piece was drying, we moved a few pieces of wood into the shop.

I moved all of the steel that we won't be using anytime soon from the woodworking shop into the downstairs shop the other day.  That cleared up space for Jim to store the wood, at least temporarily.

Back outside, Jim put up the fascia board...

Then the soffit piece was next.  Jim got it up and fastened down but wanted another 15 minutes to finish everything.  Unfortunately, that's when the sprinkles came down.

After putting all the tools away from that job, Jim turned his attention to his next task - working on his work 4Runner.  It needs some work before winter, so while he still has the other 4Runner available, he needs to get that done.  Always something!
