10.17.2016

Jim continues to make progress on the electric work...he got the breaker box mounted in the downstairs shop.

Today was another kind of frustrating day...again, the forecast said no rain but we had a few pop-up showers.  They only lasted maybe 15 minutes but it was enough to have to drag tools back inside and make all the scaffolding platforms wet.

Things finally cleared out and Jim was able to get back outside.  He wanted to get the next piece of siding next to the flashing - this was another complicated cut piece.

Fastening it in place...

I had to run into Staples to pick up some fire school work; meanwhile, Jim had to do a lot of scaffolding work.  Unfortunately, he had a 4' section on the right tower and was hoping that he could make that work with the rest of the scaffolding as he went higher.  But it just didn't work.  To make the fit, he had to tear down the top section of scaffolding in the back, tear down the 4' section in the front, and rebuild.  That obviously took quite awhile and was pretty exhausting work!  But it will work out much better and be safer as he goes higher.

Making good progress...

And more progress!  We're at the point now where I can hand Jim shingles out the apartment window!

Making more cuts to fit a few more pieces and then get them painted to dry overnight.

Jim has to pick up our trim board order and needs the box truck.  He had called a neighbor about helping him move out some tools from the truck, but he hasn't heard back yet.  So...after I was gone, Jim brought the Bobcat up and used it to get 2 tools out of the truck.  Ugh - hate him wrestling with that heavy stuff by himself.  He brought the box truck home and will leave from here in the morning.

Even with kind of a misty day, the trees on the property are gorgeous!
