11.3.2015

In typical Jim fashion, he got up this morning ready to tackle the tasks at hand - including working on the issues from yesterday.

He wasn't happy with the location of the rough opening for the first window that he did yesterday - he ended up taking it apart along with a few other studs and moving it over 1/2"!  But that made all the difference and he was happy with the re-do.

From then on, it was full speed ahead.  Here he is working on the next window frame.  (Loving the short-sleeved t-shirt in November!)

The inside view...these will be the kitchen windows!

Building the next window frame...

Then putting the stud underneath...

...and on top of the window frame.

Then the next stud is put into place...

The last stud on the front wall!

The front wall all assembled - and the brace down too which makes it look so clean and finished!

Jim is relieved that this wall is done and everything is in good shape now!

Time to move to the side wall.  Before we could get the scaffolding over there, Jim took another brace down.  He's being very cautious on which braces he takes down and in what order just to insure everything stays safe and stable.

Jim had to do some more fastening on this wall before he could proceed - putting the rest of the screws in the end rafter/track connection as well as the track/deck connection.  Then he put up the next stud...

Fastening the stud at the top...

Doing more fastening and putting up the next stud...

As the sun goes down below the horizon, here's the side wall view...

Jim brought his portable light up so that he could work a little bit longer.  He ended up getting 4 more studs cut!  He also brought home a string of lights that was in storage that he needs to put a plug on - he wants to get it wired up so that he can have some more light in this space.
