11.12.2015

One of those rare, mostly rainy days in upstate New York.  Kind of depressing right now when there's so much to be done.  But Jim made good use of the day.

He went to the land during a break in the drizzle in the morning and was able to put more screws into some of the steel rafter work.  It was too wet to go on the roof, but all those screws have to be done eventually so it was a good time to get a few in.  He set up the pump a couple times to get water out of the shop while he was there too.

We're excited because he went to the roofing company and ordered our roofing material this morning!  We have been talking about this decision for so long; we're happy to have made it and be able to move forward.  He also ordered some stainless steel nails online for the roofing as well as picking up some more underlayment for the roof.

In the afternoon, he went and picked up the latest steel order.  This is for more blocking and for our ceiling joists.  Once we were in the space and imaging the apartment, we decided to make high ceilings in a couple of spots, which means different sized joists.  We think it will be a nice feature inside the apartment.

We are hoping the rain will move out and the wind that is supposed to move in won't be too strong so that we can get back to putting more sheathing up on the roof tomorrow!
