These are the blocking pieces that Jim made to help couple the end wall to the roof.

He put up the four that he got made last night.  These pieces will have to go all the way up the end walls, so there are a lot of pieces to make!

It was amazing, but when we cleared out the barn Jim found the bracket he had been looking for in a random box - this bracket holds the laser level in a fixed place and shoots a level line around a room.

Since we are outside, you can't really see the beam, so I took the handheld detector and marked the line for the ceiling joists on each of the rafters.

Meanwhile, Jim was putting the rest of the fasteners in on the bottom of the main rafters.

Then...ta da...we were able to take one of the shoring posts down that previously held up the ridge beam!

Time for the last main rafter - this is another one that will go inside the wall between the living room and the bathroom.  Jim made and fastened down the clip angle...

....and we got the rafter into place.

The track was next to go up and be fastened down.

Last night at home, Jim worked on making the cord for his lights, so as the sun faded he got them strung up in the shop area.

Let there be light!  Jim was able to stay and build more blocking for the rafters.  Once these lights are turned off however, the site becomes treacherous to navigate in the pitch dark!

A pretty sunset over the mountains...
