5.23.2014

Jim finished up the stack work today - this is really a complex stack and has to be put together practically inch by inch, because there are so many twists and turns in order to get everything in place and straight.

Final touches...

Stack is all done!

Gluing the pipes going up through the deck...

Then we finished up the insulation on the back side.  We didn't want to do this when we did the front because we didn't want it exposed to sunlight for all that time.

Jim then moved to making the footer for the support wall that will help hold up part of the stairwell.

Pounding in the stakes...

Putting gravel around the outsides of the footer - it's ready to go!  There is always leftover concrete, so Jim will use some from the pour this week to make this footer.

The grounds are really taking shape and look good from up on the deck!

We went back to some more grading and cleaning up after we were done with the day's tasks.  There are so many tree remnants that were left behind.  We still aren't sure what we will eventually do with the huge pile that we have....I'm thinking a giant bonfire....s'mores anyone?
