5.7.2015

Jim left early this morning to go to the welding supply company to get another tank of oxygen.  His tank is probably 40 years old so and had markings from a Dayton, Ohio, company on it so he wasn't sure how they would handle it.  But they tested it and said that they would just file the old markings off and repaint with their info, so he got a new full tank.

So before long, he was back up on the roof bending the rest of the pieces of rebar.

Bending down the rebar after its heated up...

This row is all done!

Once he got all the welding done that he used the acetylene torch for, he switched to the other welder to attach the hooks that we bent yesterday to extend out over the pour stop.

A finished row...

Unfortunately, while we still managed to get lots done, this was another day of waiting around for the scaffolding delivery.  They told us that it would be delivered today between noon and 4:00.  Since Jim was using the Bobcat to bring the welder up so that he could use it, he had to stop kind of early, take the welder off, remove the bucket and put the forks on the Bobcat.  So while he was waiting, he did a little lawn mowing - the first of the season!  I tried to pick up some rocks along the edges that always seem to bubble up so that he wouldn't hit them with the mower.  You can see that it's dry...we haven't had any rain in quite awhile.  But everything is starting to green up and look so pretty!

The driver of the truck finally called after 5:00 - and said he was going to be another 45 minutes or so!  If he would have called earlier, Jim could have finished up more of the welding.  Oh well...at the end of the day we got lots done and we have our new scaffolding too!
