Jim finished the millwork on the upper landing sill today and got it all sanded...
He also brought the next section of stairwell spindle frame up and is getting ready to finish that...
Then he sanded the slats for the railing...
A coat of primer on the spindles/slats and their frame...
Next project was to mix the thin set to put down the backer board on the upper landing...
Placing the thin set...
Putting the first piece down - kind of difficult to place in the right position!
Fastening it down with screws...
Next piece in place and fastening...
Then the next big piece...
He didn't have quite enough mixed thin set to do the last piece in this section so he'll wait until tomorrow to do that when he mixes up a batch for the mesh tape.
