Today was our new mattress delivery day - we had a four-hour delivery window starting at 9:30 so Jim took the newel post off so that there were no obstructions coming up the stairwell...

The drivers called right about 9:30 and were here about 10:00.  They weren't quite as careful as the movers we have used in the past - we were a bit nervous a few times as they scraped the walls or ceiling.  Bringing the foundation up...

They also took our old set away - here's our pretty new one!

Jim then put the newel post and the newly-painted railing up in place - so nice...

Working on the millwork for the upper landing sill...

Jim did the rest of the welding and finishing work on the other handrail...

Then hung it up in the shop to get it cleaned and ready for painting...
