When I woke up this morning, it was too dark to see how much snow we got, but the forecast had changed and now showed that we would get 1-2 feet by the time it was over.
But this was the view from the kitchen window when we looked out - and it continued snowing until early afternoon!
You can see it's over 3' of snow - and none of this is falloff from the roof - this is level all the way out!
Once he got down to the fork, he started working on the upper driveway...
A view of the patio area...
A big focus was being sure the generator was cleared of snow - there's no way it could run covered up like this!
All of this had to be dug out by hand...
I didn't get an after picture until it was dark but Jim has it all cleaned in case we need it - but thankfully we didn't lose power from all this snow...
Once Jim got down to the end of the driveway, he told me to come out and see just how deep it really was. You can see how deep it is on me after Jim made the cut for the upper drive...
The road crews here do a fabulous job of taking care of the roads, even after this unbelievable snowfall. However, that means pushing all that snow over to the side, making a mountain of snow at the end of the driveway...
After clearing the end of the driveway...
And even a path to the mailbox! Any additional clearing down here will have to be done by hand.
For the most part, the snowblower worked very well - the work Jim did to convert it to high flow made a huge difference in the way it was able to shoot the snow - I was amazed at how far it shot! But the movement of the chute continues to be hit or miss.
I'm not sure how Jim had any excess energy, but with an hour or so left of his workday, he got busy in the wood shop, gluing up another cabinet side panel...
