5.5.2020

Jim did the initial sanding of the side panels for the next cabinets this morning...

Then he paired them and started the millwork for the back panel to fit in - here he's showing me how they will look.

Both pairs done...

After lunch, we headed outside.  Jim did a little more investigating into the lawn mower's battery charging issue and thinks he may have found the issue.  He's going to order the part tonight.

We brought the excavator down to the rock wall - there was one little tree left to dig out.  We just set it over in the shade by the woods for the moment.

Then Jim started working on clearing the dirt away from the wall to start cleaning it up.  You can see how much higher this area is relative to the rest of the yard.

Then Jim brought the Bobcat back and started moving dirt.  We wanted some good dirt to put around the newly planted trees.

hese pines don't have deep root systems - the roots seem to spread more horizontally.  So we wanted to make sure to get them situated well in the soil.

Once we got dirt around all three trees on the upper driveway along with a good watering, we headed down along the woods to do the same to the new trees here.

And we got the little rescued tree planted...

Jim continued work on the wall, filling in the holes where we removed trees.

Jim moved dirt down the driveway - we want to get this rock pile moved and use the dirt to grade out this area.

Jim has the wall looking good and the lawn graded!

It was another beautiful day to work outside but check out the forecast for Friday night!  That's still a long time away for a weather forecast but it's good to work while the sun shines and the snow doesn't fly!  We are under a frost advisory tonight as well.
