Jim worked more on the framing for the drywall underneath the stair run...he got the side piece made and mounted and the rest of the side blocking pieces attached.
He also continued working on the next handrail modification. He got the piece to fit exactly so now the next step is to take out the middle part and insert the coupler for the option to remove it later.
Working on the bench grinder...
Using the die grinder to smooth out all the welds...
Our next big task of the day was to do some moving. Jim has to build a wall between the bottom of the stairwell and the metal shop. This was always his intention but it's required before occupancy to create a fire wall. Jim had to first move these extremely heavy cabinets out of the way...
As Jim was moving cabinets, I was cleaning them. These cabinets had spent quite a bit of time in storage at the barn so they're all in need of some TLC.
Jim moved the storage cabinet that was at the bottom of the stairs to the outside wall of the control room.
With the cabinet in place, Jim wanted to move this cabinet over on top.
More heavy lifting...
After a cleaning, I filled up the bottom of the cabinet with spray paint cans!
With things out of the way, we were able to chalk the line for the wall. I went to Lowe's this morning to pick up some glue so I paid for the door Jim had picked out for this area - that way he can quickly pick it up when he's ready.
