2.3.2018 - Chowderfest!

Kyle and Julia came up Friday night so that they could go to Chowderfest with us this year.  Jim and Kyle headed to the property this morning to keep Jim's streak of working days alive and Julia and I followed shortly behind.  Besides showing them all the progress, Jim and Kyle stayed and got some drywall pieces ready for the stairwell.  Since we've used up all the drywall in the woodshop, they had to get it ready down in the metal shop and carry it up into the stairwell.

We missed Chowderfest last year because of Kyle's back issues but we definitely were ready this year.  We upped our game plan - we had a list of what type of chowder the restaurants were serving to coordinate with our map so we were better able to maximize our choices.  Plus we brought our own spoons this year - definitely helped!
There were just a few people there braving the cold (and wind!) for some chowder!

Getting ready to go inside for a sample...

We had a great time.  Although we didn't sample the winner's chowder, we had some great chowders including a few dessert chowders.  When we had our fill and pretty much closed down the event, we headed to church in Saratoga Springs.  Then after a stop at Pope's Pizza in case anyone was still hungry, we headed home to relax and watch some tv (although watching the Cavs play on national tv was less than entertaining).

Kyle and Julia have to head back to NYC tomorrow morning - it was great to spend the day with them!
