We weren't quite expecting as much snow today as we got - it basically started snowing last evening and didn't stop, so we had another 5-6" by the time Jim was heading out to the property. The temperatures warmed up a bit and we even had a few sprinkles which helped get rid of some of that. However, we are under a winter weather advisory tonight and tomorrow for sleet/freezing rain/ice. So...Jim made it a short day and we went to church in town today instead of driving over the mountain tomorrow.
Even though it was short, Jim worked in the furnace room getting things figured out and some plumbing joints sweated in place. He's working on the return system - you can see the drain at the bottom here.
Check this out - more of the return plumbing. I love the way it looks! The new pump for the apartment came in so Jim put it in place and put the pump for the stairwell up on top. He still has some connections to do here but it's coming together. Another huge aspect of this system is that Jim has to get it all working now but also consider that we eventually want to connect an outdoor wood burning furnace to this system. So he has to make sure he won't be taking things apart when we're ready to put that system in place also. Not sure how he does it all...hurts my brain to think about it.
The last hour or so of the day Jim spent back up in the apartment working on finishing up the corners in the kitchen.
