2.2.2018

Well, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow so there's 6 more weeks of winter.  It sure felt like winter around here today - the temperatures dropped all day and there was a wicked wind so the wind chill was in the double digits below zero range most of the day!

Jim did some loose ends this morning - he had more screws to put in the drywall that we put up yesterday.  Plus, he spent time continuing to figure out the next steps for the furnace plumbing.

After that, he worked in the woodshop bathroom on the urinal!  He needed to know how everything was going to work and what he needed to plan out.  The urinal came with this bracket that it hooks onto - Jim made a steel backing plate so that he can tighten it down as much as he wants without fear of damaging drywall.

This was one of the only mistakes on the drywall - we measured for the plumbing from the wrong side and were hoping that the urinal would cover it.  But no.  So Jim had to patch the hole.  He first attached a piece of plywood to the back and fastened it down.

Then he cut a hole of drywall and glued and fastened it.

Some tape and plaster later and it's all fixed!  Jim went ahead and taped the joints here because he wants to get it primed before the urinal is actually fastened in place.

Then he hung it on the wall to see how everything would work - looks awesome!!

He spent the rest of the afternoon upstairs doing plastering.  The second bedroom is basically done besides a few loose ends - that's amazing!!
High 19/Low 4 - windchill -14
