First, congratulations to our nation's newest citizen - Julia! She has been going through the citizenship process and had her ceremony today. We're very proud of you, Julia!
Jim worked this morning on insulating in the utility room...
He also unwrapped the furnace today - love the way it looks. The mountain on it is very appropriate!
We got our next piece brought over in the wood shop and then Jim got it up into place...
Fastening...
Cutting out the window...
Wood shop looking great!
Back down in the utility room, we brought the first piece of drywall for the inside over...
All up into place...check out the advance planning - the drywall tucks in between the wall stud and the ceiling deck material!
Fastening...
All done!
Then trouble hit. Jim had to undo the switch box in order to put the first piece of drywall on the outside of the utility room. This is a double switch box, each of which are 3-way switches. He unscrewed the first switch and both screws broke off into the box. Where normally this might just be an aggravation, this was a major issue because the wire goes through conduit which is glued into the box. Jim would have to figure out how to take all of that apart in order to replace the box.
He came up with a plan - he put a metal box frame on the outside of the box so hopefully that will work. He was able to get the drywall up and all the light, receptacle and conduit spots cut out. He still needs to fasten it completely down. Kind of a frustrating end to the day but hopefully he'll be able to get the box rewired tomorrow.
We had to leave a bit early because we were going to Holy Day services tonight. We went to a church in Saratoga Springs, then went into Lowe's to pick up an order Jim had placed along with some 2'x10' pieces of wood for the utility room door frame. We ended the night at Pope's Pizza - always a treat!
