12.18.2017

It was kind of a disjointed day today.  Jim went to the Drywall Center at lunchtime to pick up more splayed tape and more J-channel.  He also picked up some parts at the plumbing supply store.  I picked up more parts at Lowe's that Jim had ordered while I was out doing a few errands.

We spent a good portion of the day doing some rearranging - a necessary evil.  We needed to move the stack of drywall down a bit in order to be able to get in the cabinet we just moved.

In order to put drywall on the back wall of the wood shop, we definitely have to do some rearranging.  Jim rearranged some of the tools and wood we had stacked up.  All of the flooring is in boxes against the back wall.  We restacked some differently in order to give us room to get drywall up and Jim is going to move some of the boxes upstairs - here's a start.

All of these pieces will have to have the top part cut off of the drywall in order for us to be able to get the piece in place.  Although this picture makes it look like Jim is just on the ladder putting up the top piece, he's actually on the ladder which is standing on the wood pile.

We brought the first piece over...

Then Jim was able to slide it down the wall...

And started fastening...

Time for more rearranging.  We emptied Jim's other cabinet and then moved it over next to the other one...

Then filled it back up...

After all that, we had a little bit of time so it was back up to the apartment.  Jim put up the angled piece for the wall/ceiling joint...

Then he brought up both ladders and a plank in order to do the top wall joint...

Then he did a little corner bead plastering...

Every evening now, Jim has to make sure all the heaters are filled up with enough diesel fuel and get everything set to keep the carriage house warm enough overnight.  But things are still maintaining good temperatures, so it's well worth it!
