Jim had to start the day dealing with bureaucracy - never fun. Our building permit expired last week and we were required to renew it. Again, I'll get on my soapbox and say how unfair it is that they penalize someone who is building a house by themselves - there is no way that it can be completed in a year. Those rules are made to protect homeowners from unscrupulous contractors from dragging out a project. But as the old saying goes, you can't find City Hall. Jim fought a little and we were able to pay for a 6-month extension rather than pay for a whole new permit. But still.
That process took awhile and Jim didn't get back to the property til after 11:00. He finished the insulation details for the next piece of drywall in the wood shop. While he was in the insulation mode, he put a few pieces in the metal shop utility room walls.
As well as he finished the insulation on the living room wall!
Jim got the next piece of drywall notched and ready to go. We moved it over and then Jim backed it into place.
Doing the initial cutting of the outlets...
All up and Jim is fastening...
This corner is really taking shape!
Jim then went down and painted the plywood that he primed yesterday - this is where the furnace will go. Speaking of which, Jim got a call today from the freight company that they will deliver the furnace tomorrow! That's going to be an immense amount of work and figuring out for Jim to do but none of that can start until the furnace is here!
All painted and ready to go!
Next, we moved back up into the apartment where Jim worked on taping in the bathroom.
We have gone through 1000 feet of drywall tape - just opened up another 250 foot roll!
Last joint in the bathroom for now...
So the master bedroom is next!
After I left, Jim did some corner bead plastering, including in the bathroom...
