I also took back the old battery from the chipper so that we could get our core charge back. Jim then switched batteries - put the new one in the lawn mower and the one in the lawn mower into the chipper. However, even though they appear to be the exact same size, the new battery didn't want to fit in the holder on the mower. It took Jim almost an hour to swap batteries!
This afternoon, Jim started preparing to dig the trench for the water line into the house (so exciting!). He first had to move some dirt out of the way...
Then marked a general line where he wanted the trench to go...
There's the pathway to the house!
Starting to dig the trench!
Although Jim made sure to put the electric line much deeper, he still did hand digging at the very bottom of the trench just to be safe!
Taking a measurement... Obviously, the water line has to be much deeper than the electric line (although we put the electric line deep as well). But it has to be below the frost line so that nothing freezes.
A view from down below...
There's always a lot of hand crumbing when it comes to trench work...
And even more hand shoveling...
By the time we knocked off about 5:00 (after only 2 hours of trench work), Jim had made huge progress!
After Jim was done with the trench work for the day, he had to do some lawn mowing.
Happy Birthday to Kyle - love you!
