5.10.2017

Jim did some more rearranging of our stored boxes in the metal shop - put more things in the workshop attic and consolidated the rest of the boxes.  Looks so much better to have some space freed up!

Jim decided he wanted to put a coat of primer on the plywood wall before he started attaching manifolds.  However, the can was almost empty so we'll definitely have to get more paint tomorrow!

Jim worked on more electric (electric work never seems to really be done!).  He wants security lights at opposite ends of the building in the front.  Of course, because you want them to come on at the same time, that's a lot of wire to run.  He got it run from one corner over to where it will go out into the stairwell...

If you look closely in the middle between the stud and the red chalk line, you can see a piece of conduit - Jim will use that to get the wire out into the stairwell wall.

He wanted the switch for the security lights to be out of the way so they wouldn't be confused with normal lights - so he put it on the stairwell wall where it will be behind the double door when it's open.

We switched to insulation mid-afternoon.  Only Jim would stuff insulation in the stud cavity at the top of the wall...

Putting up the insulation batt.  This area was time-consuming - there were a lot of wires in this area and Jim wanted to make sure everything was tucked in correctly so he used smaller batts which just takes a lot longer.

Putting up the first ceiling insulation in the kitchen!

A start to the kitchen ceiling...

Jim is leaving this cavity in the hallway open in case we need to run wiring for a thermostat (see, electric work is never done!).  But we're getting more areas insulated!
