Jim spent some time working on his saw today, cleaning up the steel table.  It was really bad after being stored in the barn for a couple years but Jim got it back to looking new!  He also redid the plug wiring on it so it's almost ready to go!

Back up on the planks working on putting shingles on the side wall.  He also got the other side trim board on the window.

Ugh...working on ladders on top of planks.  Plus, there are quite a few areas here where Jim has to use screws, which means he has to put a lot of force behind each screw, potentially causing the ladder to kick out.

But progress is looking good...

More precarious positions - half on the ladder, half on the scaffolding!

Jim broke out the new shear to start working on the top window trim.  What a difference from using the old jigsaw - this cut right through the plank with no problems.  Definitely a good buy!

Making molding...

The inside view of Jim attaching window trim.  I'll bet he goes in/out of this window 50 times during the day.  While that's better than going all the way down the scaffolding, it's still a lot of work.

Top trim board, starter plank and flashing all finished on top of the window.

By the end of the day, Jim was able to put some shingles over the window.  This has been such a hard area to figure out and then get into position to work, but it looks great.  This picture makes it look like it's at ground level instead of 20-25' in the air!

Final end-of-the-day shot after some touch-up painting and all tools brought in - a more realistic view from the ground!

Earlier in the day, Jim brought in another pallet of shingles - so I got busy unwrapping and separating those.

Then got another batch of shingles painted.
