Jim wanted to work this morning on getting some trim work planned out and fabricated.  When I got there around noon, he was doing some measurements for the front corner piece.

These corner pieces are kind of difficult because they have to be routed out to fit over the ledger board as well as have a built-in drip edge.

We had decided that we need to step up our painting schedule and try to do more each day. So we set up some scaffolding outside with steel studs and I got the first rows of shingles placed.  Then, after having almost no possibility of showers...it rained.  Jim had just gone outside to work on placing shingles when the shower started.  It didn't last real long, but long enough that it made working outside too dangerous and obviously painting outside was out.

Jim was happy to go back to making trim.  This way, when he needs it he won't have to stop and make it - he'll already have it finished.

These are inside corner pieces primed and drying.

I painted shingles inside so we were still able to get a batch completed.

It wasn't too long before things had dried enough that Jim could go back outside.  He started doing some marking from the scaffolding for the upper sections - that's exciting!  Then he worked off the ladder putting more shingles on the gable side.

At this point, Jim is just about ready to work off the scaffolding for the remaining shingles on this side of the roof - halleluiah!  But, of course, lots of work to do before that can happen.

These pictures were taken from inside because I was handing supplies out to Jim through the window (but you can see from the truck in the background that he is really high up!).  He's pulling back the house wrap and titanium cover that has been in place since last year.  He was happy to see that the sheathing was totally dry and everything was in great shape.

We cut and applied some more membrane to cover the intersection of roof and house sheathing...

Then it was back to putting up the step flashing in the unorthodox manner since we don't have the roof shingles on yet.

End-of-the-day picture - looking great!
