Poor Jim is really working in a jungle gym - plus tools and supplies are never where he is! But still pressing on - got the spacer strip and the next piece of starter plank installed.
Marking the studs...this is really helpful because now Jim can use his drywall gun and screws for stud areas and the nail gun for the rest of it. I'm so happy the nail gun is working out - the screws release some of that silica dust when they go in.
Putting shingles along the bottom...
Jim wanted to get some more west wall pieces cut so he figured out all the angles and used the shear to cut them.
Then I primed all the cut areas and painted them gray after they dried.
You can see on the bottom right corner of this picture that Jim got the first row of shingles on the west wall. Then it was working up the back wall!
Couple end-of-the-day pictures...
There was a possibility of rain in the afternoon so we decided not to paint shingles. Instead, I started opening and separating the new pallet of shingles. One-third of the way done.
Jim got two Bobcat calls today - first, the guy who bought the Bobcat is coming tomorrow morning to pick it up. Then, he got a call from the driver who is bringing the new Bobcat - he anticipates that he will be here Saturday to drop it off. So it appears that Jim will only be without the Bobcat for a day - that's incredible timing!
Jim shut down a little early because he wanted to get things wrapped up with the Bobcat before the guy comes in the morning. It started lightly raining about 5:00 - it is sorely needed. I can't even remember the last time it rained.
