8.29.2015

Jim started the day using our brand new cross braces to build up the other section of scaffolding.  He even managed to get the two separate sections to come together at almost the same level, which was pretty amazing on such a slope (picture later).

Then we got busy on more sheathing...this time the upper pieces which have to be done from on top of the deck.

Here you can see Jim in between the two sets of scaffolding towers - with a plank in between.  Made me nervous since it's a long way down with nothing in between!

Last full sheet of sheathing on the top row!

Cutting the last piece - this one will again have to be cut to compensate for the roof on the end.

We had all the other pieces of sheathing up on the deck already, but since this one had to be cut, it wasn't up there.  So Jim had to be creative in putting it out the window and onto the scaffolding.

WOW!   All of the sheathing is done on the back now and it looks amazing inside - like a real shop!

It looks pretty amazing from the outside too - you can see where the roofline will come down on either side.

Since the sheathing went really well (we have a very good system going now), we decided to put house wrap up on this section to give it a little protection.  House wrap is always exciting because it's the last stage before siding!

Uh, oh, no more view out the window for the moment!

Stapling it all down - the wind blowing through the window made it a little more challenging for Jim to get it all flat!

Cutting out the window opening...

...and then we got it all taped and ready for the window!

Jim had left some of the screws at the very bottom until we got the new shipment of screws, so before we could move on, he had to finish them.

We used our 3' wide house wrap to cover the sheathing underneath the roofline.

Time for the next piece...

...and stapling it all down!

Putting the 3' section of house wrap on the other side.

All done and protected - another good day!
