Then he made more ledger board flashing for the back side of the building.
Then it was more scaffolding work in the back. Scaffolding work is hard work - by the time Jim is done, it's about the equivalent of a full days work! We set up two connected towers first.
Then had to disassemble and reassemble the scaffolding that was around the side corner and move it to the back also. It may be a lot of work but it sure makes the sheathing work easier.
Attaching the ledger board flashing...
The next question was - how do we get plywood back around where we need it? The Bobcat fits around back, but not carrying a sideways piece of plywood. So we brought it through the door and out the side!
Attaching the first piece on the back side...
Getting it all screwed down...
The next piece is in place and it's time for the strapping!
One more piece...
The scaffolding won't allow Jim to reach the corner of this piece, so he had to bring the ladder around to work from.
The start of the second row!
Unfortunately, this huge project involves a lot of distractions - good and bad - that take time away from the project and make you refocus on something else. We're back to obsessing over orange mold. If you remember, the first shipment of 5/8" plywood that we had delivered by Lowe's had a weird orange mold on it. We complained about it and they finally arranged to have it picked up and another load delivered. Well...this load is sprouting orange mold now too. Everywhere there is moisture built up ... there it is. So, first thing tomorrow we will contact both Lowe's and Georgia Pacific to see what's up.
