Happy Earth Day!  We try to always be mindful to be good stewards of our portion of this world.  We did decide to spend the afternoon working on the this gorgeous property - pictures to come!

But in the morning, Jim did some woodworking.  He brought in the ladder and did some measurements for the microwave outlet and vent openings that he will need to make in the cabinet.

Laying out the outlet location on the back of the cabinet...

Then he cut it out and round over the edges - it's beautiful even though no one will really see it!

He also took some time and rounded over the top and bottom edges of the workbench so there are no sharp edges to cause splinters!

In the afternoon, we headed outside.  Jim wanted to cut down the tree in the middle of this picture.

But first, some clean up was required of some trees that were already down on the ground so that he can get his Bobcat back there.  So he cut it up in sections and we carried them out to the driveway where he'll use the Bobcat to scoop them up.

Right when we finished with the last section, we had a Craigslist buyer come to the property.  He was a very nice guy and he spent a long time talking with us about this area.  He was born and raised here but lived in different places with the military; he said that no place else compares - which we agree with!  It was nice to talk with him but it did kind of eat into the afternoon.  By the time he left, Jim didn't want to start the tree project so we headed down and continued work on the side of the driveway.

Jim also took the Bobcat back into the woods to blaze more of a trail where he can deposit some of the old logs we have piled up from when they first came through and cut down so many trees.

The land really drops away from the house - it's quite the view of the house from down below!

At the side edge of the property is this amazing stone wall...
