Tax Day. Jim works so hard on our taxes - because I'm self-employed, it makes things much more complicated. Always glad to get them filed - and am I the only one who pledges yet again to be better about record keeping?
Jim plans on leaving the clamps on the top for another day but he did fasten this half down to the workbench this morning.
Kind of tight working conditions! Plus, with the side truss piece, he couldn't get his driver in that area but he always comes up with other approaches.
Jim put a piece of angle on the top in preparation for cutting the edges - look how perfectly flat the angle lays on the top!
Cutting the edges...
After lunch, Jim brought up the window frame to see if it would fit...
It is perfect!
Look how seamless the jamb extension fits with the window...
Time to fasten it in place...
And put the blinds back up...
Perfection!
Putting it back together. He got it on the compactor and it appears to work much better. He's going to order a new carburetor for it soon so that he'll have it in good shape when he needs it.
He's also working on the chipper - changing the oil here. He's going to order a new battery for it as well. He's got lots of piles of undergrowth and tree limbs that are ready to be chipped up!
While he was in the pole barn, he found the metal blast gates so he reworked the vacuum system coming off the planer and replaced the plastic one.
With so very many tools and machinery, you have to invest time into keeping everything working well so it's ready when you need it!
High 55/Low 33 - temperatures dropped all day! |
