Happy National Siblings Day to all our siblings - spread all over from Ohio to Texas to Florida!
Jim worked this morning on getting half of the top fastened down to the workbench. This took awhile - he had to get everything situated exactly how he wanted it. Then he ended up having to hand drill more holes in the bench because of where the seams of the top hit. He put some wax paper on the spars so that when he glues the two halves together, the glue won't go on the actual workbench. In case he ever needs to take it apart, it will make things cleaner.
He then brought up the door jamb for the closet door in the second bedroom and fastened it into place...
It sure looks nice not to see drywall there!
Since we picked up some PVC pipe yesterday at Lowe's, Jim was able to start working on his dust collection system. He started by putting the first piece up in the trusses...
To cut down on vibration, Jim cut foam tubing pieces and put them around the truss sections where the pipe fit...
It's really taking shape now...
This is the connection to the planer. It also has another access area where Jim can connect it to his table saw later...
Jim now has the planer all connected - he just needs to hook it up to the vacuum!
Later in the afternoon, Jim continued to do work outside, getting gravel out of the yard and cutting down some young trees that grow around the pine trees to clean everything up for spring!
